Why our approach is different

Because we are different!

With Total Learning, your development does not take place solely in the classroom or lecture theatre, and we will not be presenting PowerPoint slides one by one until you are exhausted! Your development takes place where it matters – where you work – and your subject matter comes from where you expect it to be – not in front of you on the big screen but from the ether:

Our use of the term ether corresponds to its original and equivalent meaning in the Universe, where it is defined as the space occupied by other elements (such as air, fire, earth, and water).  In Indian spiritual thought, the ether is also called Akasha[1], describing space as the element that contains everything and in which we find our body of wisdom (knowledge).

Your ALDUS

Within the ether, patterns of energy coalesce, creating more knowledge. Your Applied Learning & Development Unified Space (ALDUS) is where your consciousness brings learning to life and helps you lead. Aldus primarily means 'old' or 'wise', stemming from Old English/Dutch roots, and gained fame via Renaissance printer Aldus Manutius.

The ether is limitless, just as your learning capacity is.  Through ALDUS, you learn through your intelligent inquiry, questioning and application.  We support you, but not as your teacher.  We co-produce your learning.  Your space is your ether. We help you to explore.

We take you to wherever your learning needs to go and from where your continuous development will emerge.  Some of this will be applied through face-to-face learning and development. Still, the subject matter can come from anywhere within the learning ether, the blended learning environment we offer to help you navigate.  Just like the perfect platonic solid of the octahedron (eight equilateral triangles, four of which meet at each vertex), we explore the complex systems within which your learning and leadership interact in creating the change you seek.  We help you to find the patterns that exist but are not immediately visible.

Are you ready for that journey?

[1] Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur=life, Veda=Science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential (https://www.scienceandnonduality.com/article/science-and-the-existence-of-ether)
